On the edge of the 19th century prairie, a woman stands alone against a horizon that stretches in every direction, and something out there is watching her back.

THE WIND (2018), subtitled Demons of the Prairie on home video, stars Caitlin Gerard as Lizzy Macklin, a frontier wife who lives in extreme isolation on the American plains. When new settlers Emma and Gideon Harper arrive, Lizzy becomes convinced a demonic presence stalks the land around her homestead, while her husband Isaac, played by Ashley Zukerman, questions her sanity.

Directed by Emma Tammi from a screenplay by Teresa Sutherland, the film unfolds out of order, sliding between past and present until the audience is as disoriented as Lizzy herself. The emptiness of the setting becomes the horror. There is no one to confirm what she sees, and no one to help her if she is right.

Julia Goldani Telles plays Emma Harper, Miles Anderson appears as the Reverend, and Dylan McTee is Gideon. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest and arrived as part of a wave of westerns reclaiming the genre from a woman's point of view, treating frontier isolation itself as a source of dread rather than mere backdrop.
