A ten-year-old girl flees into her family's mausoleum during her mother's funeral, and something ancient and evil finds its way inside her.

MAUSOLEUM (1983) stars Bobbie Bresee as Susan Walker Farrell, a woman possessed by a demon lodged in her family's crypt since childhood. Her husband, played by Marjoe Gortner, watches her unravel while a doctor, played by Norman Burton, tries to understand what is happening to her. Her eyes glow, her body transforms, and anyone near her becomes prey.

Director Michael Dugan, working from a script credited to Katherine Rosenwink, Robert Barich, and Robert Madero, leans into gore and sleaze with equal enthusiasm.

LaWanda Page, known to television audiences from Sanford and Son, appears as Elsie, a maid who discovers the demon's presence and flees the house rather than become one of its victims.

The film found a home on video shelves in the 1980s, where its lurid poster promised exactly what the movie delivers: possession, transformation, and practical effects pushed to their limit.
