This is the big one. This is the question everyone asks – and in fact it’s probably the best single-sentence summary of the Anywhere But Hollywood mission:
“Do I have to live in LA?”
Google the phrase (here, I’ll do it for you), and you’ll see that most of the results have to do with screenwriting. Which makes sense, because on the surface it seems that screenwriting should be something you could do from anywhere. Right?
Well, no. And yes. Maybe. But, well, no.
Just listen, and I’ll take you on a quick tour of the possibilities open to you when you commit to a film career OUTSIDE of Hollywood. No one’s saying it’ll be easy. It’ll be a long, hard, slog. But the potential rewards for those who take full control of their creative lives are so much greater than for those who resign to be mere cogs in the Great American Movie Machine.
